Pain is creeping, seeping
Words are sleeping, weeping
Through her liquid thoughts
Bubbling shaming noughts
And nullifying crosses
Can only count her losses
Alone, well out of earshot
Recounting the unwritten plot
Re-enacting the lovey dovey dove
And her useless drowning love.
Sudden springs of spite swelled up
Soon waves of rage welled up
Now helpless
She soaks in pain, in vain, and sinks
Brain drain...
Then washed up by a tidal bore
Waking up on a lonely shore of rippling sand,
Hungover, Hangover
Aquamarine blues are over
Sang over and over
And oversang
about
O’o are the Barcelona-based duo of French experimental musicians Victoria Suter and Mathieu Daubigné. Taking their name from a now extinct songbird once worshiped by Hawaiian kings, their music combines analogue synthesizers, live instrumentation, vocal harmonies and drones to construct rich and organic textures. In June 2022 the duo will release their debut full-length album, Touche.
Aquamarine is a rich and soulful piece of music, combining dense, textural ambient artistry with the duo’s ever-present pop sensibility. Setting the tone ahead of the release of their debut LP Touche later this year, triumphant crescendos give way to passages of momentary bliss, foregrounding Victoria Suter’s warm, playful vocals.
